Does Insurance Cover Cosmetic Dentistry?
Dental insurance typically doesn’t cover cosmetic dentistry, but it often covers general dentistry procedures that are related, which means that your dental insurance may cover some of the cost of your cosmetic dentistry procedures.
Our payment coordinator Kim can meet with you to look over your coverage and determine how much your insurance will cover and how much you might be expected to pay. We will help you interpret your coverage and try to maximize coverage. We will then help you file a claim with your insurance company for treatment.
If we do file a claim with your insurance company, we will expect you to pay your estimated copayment at the time of treatment. Your insurance company will consider your claim and will pay what it considers to be appropriate. Often, this matches the estimate. Sometimes it is less than the estimate. If it turns out that your actual copayment is more than the estimate, you will be responsible for the difference.
