Oral Harmony - Pain Freedom
Dr. Dunayer is constantly learning more to give patients the highest level of care. The Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies has been integral in enhancing his skills and understanding in the latest techniques in restorative and esthetic dentistry. At a recent LVI course he increased his knowledge of how the teeth and jaw function in relation to the muscles surrounding them and how they can be balanced to achieve oral harmony and pain freedom.
Understanding this relationship can help patients who’ve experienced years of pain or damaging oral function to live comfortably, saving teeth and keeping smiles more youthful. During a three-day training session Dr. Dunayer learned the progressive advancements of neuromuscular dentistry, the logic behind the correct neuromuscular position, establishing the bite at this position, as well as proper occlusion (how the bite comes together). Using technology to measure and assess jaw and teeth function and therapy to encourage the muscles to relax in correct physiologic position, it is possible to solve previously ‘difficult’ oral conditions.
